The Trio of Austrian Trumpet player and composer Gerhard Ornig is a creative, flourishing, energetic, unique collaboration of musicians from 2 continents and 3 different cultures and countries. Gerhard is sharing the stage with Matt Adomeit (USA) on Bass and Attila Gyárfás (HUN) on Drums. A specific description of the music of the trio may be difficult to put into words, but Michael Ternai (MICA ‐ music austria) described the debut ("First Flow") in an appealingly beautiful and interesting way:

Jazz, which does not stop at its own borders, but seeks proximity to other genres in an exciting and, above all, very varied way ‐ exactly this is what you get offered on "First Flow", the debut of the GERHARD ORNIG TRIO.
Three instrumentalists of different backgrounds who, despite their differences, share a common will to explore new musical paths. The jazz that the trio around the Austrian trumpeter and composer Gerhard Ornig realizes on his album "First Flow" is one of the very traditional and refreshingly unconventional notes. What makes the bandleader from Styria (State in Austria) and his two comrades, the American Matt Adomeit on the bass and the Hungarian Attila Gyárfás on drums, to their program, is the openness and separation from all its constraints to each other leading, the supposed contradictory. The three protagonists juggle with the different styles and varieties, they sum up imaginatively to something musically original, which is indeed based on the set of rules of jazz, but still exceeds its defined limits with a large sentence.
